RESTORE FACIAL AREAS

Diminish Fine Lines & Wrinkles

Soft, round cheeks, smooth mouth corners, and full lips are desirable qualities of our younger years.

As we age, our life story shows up through fine lines pulling at our mouths and thinner smiles through our lips. Our eyes, as pretty as they may be, take on a more hollowed look, a jarring experience that can be tough to hide with makeup.

Juvéderm® looks to help these issues by filling out the skin tissue, providing more volume to the face, and diminishing any fine lines and wrinkles around the lips, mouth, and nose.

What Is Juvéderm® & How Does It Work?

The Juvéderm® product line-up is a hyaluronic acid-based dermal filler, but unlike other fillers, its main ingredient is naturally found in the body.

It was designed to help individuals wanting to address facial signs of aging, as both collagen and hyaluronic acid production wanes in the body with age.

It is used to enhance and restore facial areas such as the cheeks, lips, and mouth area. The Juvéderm® product line-up is quite large, as each product has a combination of different bonding agents and concentrations, which stimulate different areas and depths of the face.

The hyaluronic acid that is in Juvederm® works to add volume to facial tissue by stimulating the production of collagen.

This, in turn, plumps up the connective tissue and makes certain facial features like the lips, appear smoother and larger.

What Is the Difference Between Juvéderm®, Juvederm Ultra®, & Juvederm Ultra XL®?

The Juvederm® product line-up is quite diverse in range, with several different versions being used to treat different areas of the face. Each type of Juvederm® comes with different benefits and may contain stronger concentrations of hyaluronic acid, as well as, additional ingredients like lidocaine (anesthetic).

Juvederm Volux®

This is the latest in the Juvederm® line-up, restoring and creating volume in the chin and jaw area.  Compared to previous iterations of the product, Volux is of a higher density, bringing more lift to these specific areas. It can last anywhere between 18-24-months and over 90% of individuals are satisfied with the new shape of their chin or jaw within 3-months of treatment.

Juvederm Volbella®

This dermal filler is designed enhance the shape of the lips and to diminish any wrinkles around the mouth.

It has a smaller particle size formula to ensure that fine detailed areas do not become too large after treatment. Lidocaine is included.

Juvederm Volift®

This dermal filler is for softening smile lines and restoring a natural-looking fullness to the area.

It is extremely effective and more efficient due to its new formulation, meaning that a smaller concentration can be used to get the same desired results.

Juvederm Voluma®

This dermal filler restores any lost fullness in the cheeks and chin area, giving you a more youthful appearance.

It uses Vycross, a new technology that produces a smooth gel that can be sculpted to create the desired outcome.

Juvederm Volite®

This dermal filler is all about hydration. It can be used to increase how well hydrated your treatment area looks for up to 9-months.

With improved hydration comes an improvement in the appearance of fine lines, smoothness, and depressions.

Juvederm Ultra XC®

This version of the dermal filler can be injected deeper into the skin than other Juvederm products. It works well for moderate lip enhancements and wrinkle reduction and can treat volume loss in the face.

Patients who receive this tend to have results that last longer than other Juvederm products; around 9-months.

Juvederm Ultra Plus XC®

The ultra plus version is very similar to the ultra but lasts longer because it has a larger particle size and is a thicker gel.

It is perfect for deep corrections of folds and wrinkles around the nose, mouth, and lip area.

9 MONTHS – 2 YEARS

How Long Do Results Last With Juvederm®?

Results for most individuals will last between 6-months and 2 years. You will also be able to see results immediately within the treatment area once swelling and redness have subsided.

Are There Any Side Effects With Using Juvederm®?

Since the treatment does require an injection site, swelling and bruising are quite common. You may also experience redness, tenderness, minor pain, and itchiness.  Lumps or bumps can also occur underneath the injection site if the filler is not evenly distributed during the treatment process.  Typically, any minor side effects that you do have will disappear within 2-4 weeks post-treatment.

More serious complications like a risk of blindness, scarring, vision issues, and the risk of stroke are rare but possible.

How to Prepare for Treatment & What To Expect During?

How to Prepare for Treatment - Juvederm

Prior to receiving treatment, you will need a consultation with one of our expert physicians who will discuss your medical history with you and what your cosmetic goals are. Since Juvederm® is a minimally invasive procedure, your treatment appointment can be scheduled for the same day as your consultation. However, there are a few things you will need to do to prepare.

  • Avoid taking medication like aspirin or ibuprofen.
  • Avoid consuming alcohol 1-2 weeks prior to treatment.
  • Avoid smoking as this can cause complications.

Remember to provide information about any allergies or sensitivities that you may have as this can impact your results and treatment process.

During your appointment, the treatment area will be cleansed and then the injections will be given. Most Juvederm® products contain the compound lidocaine which is an anesthetic itself thus alleviating the need for a topical anesthetic. The recovery time is extremely minimal, but you will need to avoid sun exposure, makeup, alcohol consumption, and strenuous activity for at least 24-hours after the procedure.
