Creating the ideal breast involves a natural balance of volume, nipple position and shape. Breast enlargement is the most frequently performed procedure — but after childbirth, weight loss, and with advancing age, breast shape and position also become a greater concern. Several procedures can address those concerns.
During consultation, measurements of your chest and breasts assist in the selection of the implant that will provide the best result. Implants can be placed either above or below the muscle. Placement will depend on your desired look, whether or not you have had previous breast surgeries and the amount of breast tissue you have. Incisions may be placed at the base of the breast, around the nipple or under the armpit. In addition, the use of a saline implant or a silicone implant will be determined based on your individual needs and desired outcome.
Mastopexy and Reduction
Sometimes the breast loses its shape, and the nipples drift below the breast crease — making it necessary for the tissue to be lifted. At Clark Institute for Aesthetics, our philosophy is to achieve the greatest improvement of shape and to leave the smallest scar possible. The surgeons at Clark Institute for Aesthetics offer a limited incision, which can be just around the nipple or can extend vertically in the shape of a lollipop. In the most extreme cases, the incision goes around the nipple, straight up and down, and in the breast crease. A breast lift and a breast reduction use the same method to improve the shape of the breast — the difference being, that with a breast reduction, tissue is removed in a very precise fashion to achieve the desired volume.
